Support our mission by contributing a donation.

Why give?

  • Your donation directly supports first-generation, undocumented, and system-impacted youth. By investing in Cemelle, you are helping young people access education, mentorship, and support systems that break cycles of incarceration and poverty.

  • Cemelle’s Machitia program offers restorative, identity-affirming, and academically enriching experiences. With your support, students explore their cultural roots, develop critical thinking, and reimagine their futures through lectures, reflection, and community action.

  • We build upon restorative justice programs like Salt Lake Peer Court by offering continued care. Your donation ensures that youth don’t just avoid further legal trouble—they’re empowered with tools for healing, leadership, and long-term success.

  • Cemelle isn’t just a nonprofit—it’s a home, a movement, and a response to systemic failures. Donating supports a grassroots, youth-led effort to challenge carcerality and promote education para el pueblo.

  • Your contribution helps Cemelle partner with trusted organizations like University Neighborhood Partners (UNP), schools, legal advocates, and colleges to build a connected, holistic support system for youth and families across Salt Lake Valley.

  • We are transparent and intentional with every dollar. Donations fund essentials—like food, workshops, emergency support, and end-of-year youth-led art projects—ensuring all programming meets real, urgent needs.

We provide culturally relevant education, mentorship, and community support to help youth reclaim their futures.

  • Cemelle is rooted in lived experience and built by those who intimately understand the struggles of marginalized youth. Our programming goes beyond traditional education by combining restorative justice, cultural identity development, emotional wellness, and long-term mentorship. We do not replace systems—we reimagine and rebuild them with community at the center.

  • Machitia (meaning “to teach” in Nahuatl) is our flagship co-curricular program designed for youth who are completing disposition contracts through Salt Lake Peer Court. For 180 days, students engage in weekly educational sessions focused on identity, emotional regulation, academic growth, and civic engagement. It is a pathway toward graduation, post-secondary success, and lasting transformation.

  • You can support Cemelle by making a donation, partnering with us as a school, legal advocate, or community organization, or volunteering your time and skills. Every form of support helps us build a movement grounded in unity, justice, and opportunity for youth who deserve more than systems of punishment.
