Building Bridges Between Systems and Community
Cemelle, Salt Lake Peer Court, and University Neighborhood Partners (UNP) are working together to create real pathways for Latinx youth to thrive beyond the justice system.
University Neighborhood Partners
Our collaboration with UNP is rooted in shared values: trust, equity, and community-led change. Through this partnership, we’re building bridges between higher education, local neighborhoods, and youth advocacy. UNP brings institutional knowledge and access, while Cemelle brings lived experience and grassroots connection.
This partnership helps us co-create a sustainable future where community voices guide program design, and youth are seen not as problems to fix—but leaders to uplift.
Salt Lake City Peer Court
We’ve partnered with Salt Lake Peer Court, a youth-led restorative justice program, to support Latinx youth completing disposition contracts. While Peer Court offers an alternative to the juvenile justice system, Cemelle steps in to provide what comes next—a structured, culturally rooted program where youth continue to grow through identity development, academic support, and leadership training.
Together, we ensure youth aren’t just diverted from punishment—but truly supported toward healing and transformation.
